I went in to work for a couple of hours today (late because I am without ride) and it was difficult. I was also told the same thing as before, that if I don't find a way to get there earlier then I am without job. Checking the bus schedule, I can take the last bus that will get me there about 1:30am, which is fine on days I work at 2, but on all other days it means I'll be sitting around the gas station for almost an hour and a half before work. (One of the reasons I left my job at Byerly's, if you all remember, was me having to sit around for 45 minutes before my shift started.) I really need to find another job.

Today was an adventure, but then going to new places typically is. I had no trouble finding the clinic, but they were short-staffed and running pretty far behind. I was scheduled for 10:30 and didn't get in to see the doctor until about 11:30. (Poor man's stomach growled really loudly as soon as I sat on the table thing, and he mentioned that he hadn't had breakfast or lunch. I really wished I had some food to give him!) Unfortunately I can't read all of his handwriting on the sheet. It says right rotator cuff t(something) and right wrist flexor tendonitis. I've got all sorts of restrictions for the next two weeks, including working only 4 hours a day and limiting repetitive motion to 20 minutes per hour. I also am supposed to wear my wrist brace while working to keep me from getting carpal tunnel.

I went from there to work to drop off the paperwork. I ended up having to wait about 45 minutes out in the freezing cold because I misread the schedule and didn't have enough time to walk back to the right stop to catch the earlier bus. I got there just in time to catch the assistant manager before he left, and he couldn't read the doctor's messy little penmanship either. I ended up chatting a bit with a couple of my coworkers who also do the same QC things that I do, and it turns out that one of them has already seen a doctor about wrist pain, and the other one was in the process of making an appointment to see a doctor about wrist pain.

I am trying my damndest to be optimistic about all this, I really am.

Current Mood: gloomy

There's so much going on in my head right now, and I don't really have the gusto to write it all out. A lot of it would be complaining, a lot of it talks about how christmas went, and a lot of it, I just don't want to talk about because people will either think I'm stupid or crazy for it.

Simon is driving me nucking futs right now, being naughty and getting into everything that he shouldn't. Sometimes it's like constantly having a toddler around the house.

I am dreading talking to the manager at work today about my doctor appointment. She is so totally unsympathetic about anything it's not even funny, and I don't particularly enjoy people trying to make me feel guilty or berate me for being sick or injured. I got myself a new brace for my wrist, but that really doesn't do any good for my shoulder.

Sean and I went to the Wedge last week to pick up some more Warm Herbal stuff, since I'd drank the last of it. While we were there, we looked over all the meats they have in their (small) meat department. He jotted down the prices, took the notes with him to Cub the next time he went, and much to our surprise found that the meats are cheaper at the Wedge. It looks like when we do buy meats we'll be getting them from there, given that they're ultimately a better deal because aside from being less expensive, they're of better quality. We also got some information about memberships at the Wedge, and found that it's not only a membership but also an investment in the place because you're buying shares of it. It's something we're seriously considering.

After talking with my grandfather and my mother yesterday, I realized something. When my family talks to each other, they spend a great deal of time complaining. Both of them had plenty to bitch about, including each other. Looking back, things have always been that way. They complain about everything, including the people they love and care about. At least now I understand where I get it from.

I recently found my Cyberlab compilation CD set that I bought at Hot Topic something like ten years ago, and this was always one of my favorite songs on it. Birmingham 6 is just a kickass band, and I love them.
